Advocates for the ArtsAdvocates for the Arts (AFTA) is a non-profit organization formed in 1993 with the mission to help support visual and performing arts in Solano County.

Each year, AFTA holds several fundraisers which enable it to donate funds to many worthy art programs and organizations in Solano County, including Solano Symphony, Fairfield Visual Arts Association, Harbor Theatre and Solano Community College Theatre.

In 2008, AFTA distributed more than $48,000 in scholarships and grants to community art organizations and programs. AFTA’s Board of Directors screened many worthy requests and voted to support the following:

Visual Arts

  • Fairfield-Suisun School District for Annual Art Showcases
  • Fairfield Visual Arts Association
  • Crocker Art Museum Association 2008-2009 Art Ark Mobile Art – Education Program
  • Fairfield Community Services Foundation’s “Fun on the Run” for art projects
  • Vacaville Art League and Gallery

Peforming Arts

  • City of Fairfield Arts and Community Events
  • Harbor Theatrical Group
  • Solano College Theatre
  • Solano Community Symphony
  • Solano Repertory Company

Scholarships

Each year, AFTA gives scholarships and grants to visual and performing art students.

  • Art scholarships in partnership with the Saturday Club of Vacaville
  • Education Plus! Mini Grants
